Hunter Buildings, Protected from the outside in. January 2010. The Inside.
Happy Birthday Hunter! Celebrating a Decade of Hunter Blast-Resistant Buildings In 2000, Hunter Buildings became the very first company to design, construct and sell blast-resistant buildings to the refinery and petrochemical industries. Ten years later, Hunter still leads the way with blast-resistant engineering breakthroughs, continued expansion throughout the world and setting the highest standards for blast-resistant structures. Sitting Down with Sam Lavergne, President of Hunter Buildings
What was probably the most important moment in your 10-year history? In 2005, the BP explosion occurred, completely changing the outlook of facility safety. That same year, the industry developed the standards that dictated companies' safety precautions. We saw the need to replace sub-standard wood-frame structures on plant sites. We targeted Exxon, the safety leader in their industry, and developed a prototype. It was a success and we built out our rental fleet to replace all their current buildings. And even though our business had been growing since 2000, it was in 2005 that blast-resistant buildings became necessary in the refining and petrochemical industries. Where do you see Hunter Buildings in the next 10 years? Strengthening the core of our business--quality and service. Also, expanding into new and current markets with new products. Most recently, we've entered the offshore market and the Middle East. We've also strengthened our applications offerings by continuing to manufacture RIEs and security buildings. We are constantly evolving and engineering the best structures out there. We will still be at the top ten years from now. When people think of Hunter Buildings, what do you hope they take away by being a client? We pride ourselves in our service and quality. We are consistently improving every aspect of our business and our buildings. We truly believe we are the best at what we do. From day one, we've always taken the 'top down' approach--manufacturing buildings with all the best features and warranties. Our competitors provide only the 'baseline' and that's never the case with Hunter. Our clients know that and trust they are getting the best building in the market.
Hunter Buildings Earns Saudi Aramco Approval Hunter Buildings has received approval to contract with Saudi Arabian oil company Saudi Aramco.
