Hunter Buildings Brings Blast Door Manufacturing In-House
HOUSTON – July 30, 2009 – Hunter Buildings and Manufacturing, a world leader in the design and construction of blast-resistant modular buildings, is pleased to announce the addition of 36” x 80” blast-resistant doors to its line of quality-engineered products.
“We wanted to meet our own internal exacting standards and delivery capabilities, so we brought the design and manufacturing of the doors in-house,” said Mark Massey, CEO of Hunter Buildings. “Our objective is to keep people safe, and our blast doors will offer a new alternative in blast-protection technology.
The 36” x 80” blast door was subjected to the same extensive testing as all Hunter Buildings structures. Two doors were physically third party tested by Baker Risk in San Antonio, Texas. The doors far exceeded their calculated design with results revealing a Hunter blast door can withstand a peak pressure of 17.9 psi, a peak surface temperature of 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit and exhibited leakage well below industry safe haven standards. Hunter blast doors are available by request and can also be purchased individually.
Hunter Buildings is a world leader in the construction, selling and leasing of blast-resistant modular buildings for the refining and petrochemical industries. Founded in 1999, Hunter is the largest manufacturer in the industry, serving clients from all over North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
