Hunter Site Services Honored with Numerous Safety Awards in 2022

Safety is serious business at Hunter Site Services, and we’re proud to say it’s no secret. Throughout 2022, our team’s dedication to training, close attention to best practices and willingness to go above and beyond have earned our company a number of safety awards.

Although safe practices are rewarding in and of themselves, the acknowledgement is an encouraging reminder that hard work doesn’t go unnoticed — and is a heartening indicator that others out there are working just as diligently as we are to create safer environments. Read on for details regarding our company’s latest awards and accolades.

EHS Today Ranked Hunter Site Services Among America’s Safest Companies for 2022

In early October, our site services division was proud to be named among America’s Safest Companies for 2022 by trade publication EHS Today. This was the second such win for our team, who also earned the award in 2016.

The annual recognition is reserved for U.S.-based companies which make environmental health and safety (EHS) a foundation of everyday practices, and competition is stiff. Five years must pass before winners are once again eligible to apply, and the EHS Today website notes qualifying companies must demonstrate the following:

  • Support from Leadership and Management for EHS Efforts
  • Employee Involvement in the EHS Process
  • Innovative Solutions to Safety Challenges
  • Injury and Illness Rates Lower than the Industry Average
  • Comprehensive Training Programs
  • Evidence that Prevention of Incidents is the Cornerstone of the Safety Process
  • Good Communication About the Value of Safety
  • A Way to Substantiate the Safety Process’s Benefits

In the article announcing Hunter Site Services’ win, EHS Today highlighted our company’s quarterly Safety Days. These learning opportunities provide team members the chance to step away from the jobsite to refocus their efforts on safe practices, take part in hands-on training, gain recognition for a job well done — and even win prizes.

It’s an honor to earn such recognition even once, but it’s truly astounding to come in at the top again. Hunter and Hunter Site Services appreciate EHS Today’s continued focus on workplace safety — and our hardworking team members who make our own safe jobsites possible.

We Took Top Honors in the Houston Safety Excellence Awards’ Hard Crafts Small Category

For the third consecutive time, Hunter Site Services was proud to take the stage to accept “Best” honors at the Houston Safety Excellence Awards. Hosted in July by the Houston Business Roundtable (HBR) and Houston Area Safety Council (HASC), the awards recognize Houston-area contractors who exhibit outstanding safety performance.

Although a quality safety record alone is worth celebrating, another source of pride is the fact that award recipients are nominated by companies with whom they’ve closely worked. In our case, it was our friends at Monument Chemical who put our name in the running.

Our site services team is thankful for both Monument Chemical for and the organizers behind the Houston Safety Excellence Awards for the recognition. In addition, we’re proud to be part of a community so dedicated to creating a safer overall working environment for companies in and around Houston.

You can find additional information about the event, as well as a full list of 2022 winners, on the Houston Safety Excellence Awards website.

Hunter Site Services’ Safety Record Resulted in Two Industrial Safety Training Council Awards

In late May, Hunter Site Services was proudly honored with two separate awards at the 26th Annual Industrial Safety Training Council’s (ISTC) Safety Awards Banquet in Beaumont, Texas. Not only were we recognized for having achieved 12 years without an OSHA lost workday, but we also maintained a zero recordable incident rate for three consecutive years.

The ISTC Safety Awards program highlights exemplary safety efforts carried out by companies throughout the Gulf Coast region, and we are grateful to the organization for its continued dedication to creating safer environments within the petrochemical industry.

These ISTC safety awards are particularly gratifying because not only do they highlight the dedication put forth by Hunter Site Services’ current team members, but of those who came before them. Three years is a long time to go without a recordable incident, and 12 years without lost time is astounding. We know none of this would be possible without the help of the safety-minded professionals who paved the way, and current team members who keep safe practices front and center every day.
