BRM RIE 1

Satellite Instrument House: Refinery

Project Type: Remote Instrument Enclosures (RIEs) & E-Houses
Industry: Energy/Oil & Gas
Location: Iraq
Completed: 2022

When a well-known oil and gas engineering firm sought to safeguard its process control systems in Iraq’s West Qurna oilfield, the team turned to Hunter. Our modular building experts got to work developing a space that not only offered unsurpassed protection for the operations’ people and ICSS/DCS control systems, but offered modern-day comforts, too.

The finished product was a fully welded custom modular satellite instrument house rated for two hours of fire resistance. Fire and gas systems, lighting arrestors and automatic fire suppression systems offer added protection for people and processes alike. Meanwhile, an HVAC system and interior and exterior LED lighting make it easier for the firm’s team to carry out its work. Hunter was proud to see the remote instrument enclosure through from start to finish, aiding in everything from mechanical installation to power cable laying and termination, earth bar connectivity and powerup. We also provided supervisory assistance for client IFAT and commissioning processes to ensure the finished product met strict industry standards and served the client’s unique needs.
