Mechanical designer with experience in design of HVAC systems including air diffusers, terminal units, ductwork, piping, central plants, air handling unit rooms, air and water risers, etc.; excellent verbal communication skills; AutoCAD, BIM, or Revit experience; Elite CHVAC; responsibilities include load calculations, layout and design of equipment rooms, selection of HVAC equipment from manufacturers catalogs, and coordination of mechanical design work with electrical and plumbing designers; candidate should have an active interest in personal growth and development.

  • Able to design ductwork layouts
  • Experience within a successful engineering firm
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Capable of producing construction drawings (AutoCAD), specifications, and shop drawing review

Job Information

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Implements one or more projects through the management of project teams.
  • Negotiates fees and contracts for projects.
  • Manages scheduling, budgets, staffing, project set-up with sub-consultants, vendors and contractors.
  • Tracks financial performance of project.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships.
  • Assures design conforms to contractual agreement with client.
  • Contribute to office initiatives and learning programs.
  • Recruit and mentor staff.
  • Project management experience in all phases of projects through post-occupancy required.
  • Knowledge of building codes and structures.
  • Extensive knowledge of architectural principles/practices.
  • Understanding of technical regulations and related code compliance.
  • Experience in design/planning standards and FF&E procurement principles.
  • Good leadership capability and can work as a team.
  • Good communication and management skills.
  • Strong abilities in managing fees, schedules and staffing
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Word and Excel and AutoCAD. Revit and Adobe Suite all a plus.

Education & Experience:

  • BS in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field position.
  • 4 plus years of experience preferred.
